My marriage seems to be definitely on the rocks, and my wife and I decided to separate. She wants as quick a divorce, as possible. She probaly thinks, that getting a half of my money and assets will set her up for a prosperous new life, with another man.
Although I care for her wellbeing (we don't have any children), I'm not prepared to let her get more than her share of assets. She's insisting that I dispose of our two investment homes, although the market here in Atlanta is very bad, at the moment, so that she can get some cash in lieu of the divorce settlement.
I don't really feel confident in dealing with her requests and threats, and am thinking about engaging a divorce attorney. Has anyone experienced benefits of having a divorce lawyer at such an early stage of divorce - separation?
I don't want to spend money on lawyers, unless absolutely necessary.
